Join Dr. Sandra Cammarata and Dr. Giovanni Campanile as they interview Michael Snyder, Ph.D., a distinguished genomics and personalized medicine expert, and the Chair of the Dept. of Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Michael Snyder, Ph.D., is the Chair of the Dept. of Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine since 2009. He is also the Director of the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine. With a background in Chemistry and Biology, he has made significant contributions to the field of genomics and proteomics. His lab, the Snyder Lab, pioneered large-scale functional genomics projects and developed various technologies such as proteome chips, high-resolution tiling arrays, and RNA-Seq. Their research has revealed new insights into the transcriptional activity and regulatory information within the human genome, as well as the diversity of transcription factor binding. Dr. Snyder is also known for integrating different "omics" technologies to create personalized omics profiles for disease risk assessment and monitoring. He has co-founded several companies and serves on multiple boards. Additionally, Dr. Snyder is the author of the book 'Genomics and Personalized Medicine: What Everyone Needs to Know'.
