Dr. Josine Verhoeven, senior research and mental health psychologist at a depression clinic connected to the Amsterdam University Medical Center. Her research focuses on both the biology and psychology of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety disorders. We discuss her recent work showing that antidepressant medication and running have similar effects on mental health. Furthermore, exercise, in this case running, had more favorable outcomes on physical health measures.
