In this episode, I welcome Rachel Exton, a seasoned commercial leader and mum of two. Rachel shares her journey from marketing for powerhouse brands like Dyson and Unilever to her current role as Vice President of Global Marketing for Pearson's English Language Learning division. Together we discuss balancing a demanding career with family life, highlighting the importance of a strong support network. Rachel shares her career path and shifts towards purpose-driven work, including how a career "step back" unexpectedly propelled her forward. Rachel offers practical strategies for tackling challenges unique to working parents and emphasises the importance of self-care. We acknowledge that there's no perfect formula for work-life balance - it's about finding what works for you and your family. Rachel's advice is straightforward, if a career is truly what you want, don't give up. The early years are challenging, but it does get easier.
