Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany and Alicia continue their conversation on the ADD Method, diving into the second step: discern. After we’ve taken the time to acknowledge our emotions, it’s tempting to stop there, but discerning our feelings is where real growth happens.

It’s about digging deeper and sorting through what we’re experiencing—asking ourselves not just “What am I feeling?” but also “Is this emotion rooted in truth?”

This step is like cleaning out a cluttered closet. We need to decide what to keep and what to let go of. It’s the process of holding each thought up to the light and discerning whether it aligns with God’s truth or if it’s something we need to release. By taking the time to sift through our emotions, we can begin to see clearly what God is speaking to us, rather than getting caught up in the noise of our own thoughts.
