It’s the 20th anniversary of the release of modern classic House of Flying Daggers, so Another Bite of the Cherry and The Mockingbird Cinema felt it would be appropriate to put on a screening of said film. To celebrate this, we thought we’d talk about martial arts films this week!

Our resident martial arts expert Nadine, a fearsome fighter with a red AND white belt in karate, will be taking us on a journey through the history of the genre, from obscure art house flicks to Kung Fu Panda.

We’ll also be reviewing some new releases including Clint Eastwood’s latest film Juror #2, wherein Nicholas Hoult fights his conscience and the American judicial system. Which discipline of martial arts will he be deploying in the courtroom? Tune in to find out!
