Are you disillusioned by the media, big business, and our governments disregard for human life, and human connection? Are you disheartened by our societies obsession with consumerism and our wasteful mindset? Do you feel like you must have the latest gadget and be up to speed on the latest headline or you will be left behind?

Get ready for a raw, honest, and slightly uncomfortable conversation of self-reflection as it relates to consumerism (in every way), and how we as a society are responsible for keeping the machine (the media in bed with big business in bed with the government) going. (Thank God for the 1st amendment!)

Ginny and Amanda have a candid convo about our addiction to dopamine and our constant demand for it!

They also tap into:

  • Finding the power for change through self-respect and honoring yourself regardless of what anyone says about how you live; being willing to stand alone
  • The Pocketbook Revolution: Amanda's idea that the only way things are going to change is if we stop spending money on things we don't need (or made unsustainably or in China)
  • Building character (especially in your children) by sacrificing immediate gratification and practicing discipline
  • Deconditioning learned behaviors
  • Alternative sources of dopamine aside from social media, shopping, food
  • Ginny's risk leaving corporate America and starting the Flippin' Phoenix Furniture Rehab; how living with less is improving her life
  • Story of Amanda losing her sh*t at the Douglas County Fair because of how expensive it is to live!

This episode is a touch longer than most because there is just so much to unpack. Buckle up...we are gettin' real!

Warning: A few extra b-list curse words are dropped in this episode because of how passionate G&A are about this.
