It took over nine decades for the Academy to award the Best Picture of the year to a foreign language film. And although there were hundreds of brilliant masterpieces that could have won, including eleven other films that were nominated prior to 2019, it was well worth the wait! Parasite is truly a special film full of incredible performances, great direction, a brilliant screenplay, and so many deep themes to analyze. It really is that good. However, 2019 was a great year in cinema. Looking back, did Parasite deserve the Oscar for the top prize?
