Today we’re discussing the new romantic spy thriller, “Black Bag” (2025). Directed by industry legend Steven Soderbergh, written by industry legend David Koepp, and starring industry legends Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, this story of married high-level British spies set at odds is brilliant, exciting, and visually beautiful. With an extraordinary ensemble cast (Gustaf Skarsgard, Tom Burke, Marisa Abela, and Naomie Harris) that includes an erstwhile James Bond 007, Pierce Brosnan, as well as “Bridgerton” heartthrob Rege-Jean Page, twists and turns and uncertainties abound around six intelligence employees. With precision and clarity, the film explores themes of marriage, loyalty (both national and personal), as well as toxic office politics. It’s enormous fun. Let’s get into it!
