A judge in St. Petersburg has jailed Alexander Arsenyev on misdemeanor charges of “politically motivated” vandalism and felony charges of “discrediting” the Russian army. Though the court has not revealed what Arsenyev allegedly spraypainted on a public fence, reporting by Fontanka, Bumaga, and Mediazona indicates that it was the pacifist phrase: “I don’t want to get used to war.”

Police reportedly arrested Alexander Arsenyev, 38, at his home in Moscow, where officers say they found spray paint cans and a gray acrylic marker in a plastic bag.
