For the next three episodes, we are exploring a section from our forthcoming book, Mindful Living: A guide to the everyday magic of feng shui, about symbolism and iconography in the natural world. Today’s episode looks at fruit. Symbolism and iconography has been used for centuries to help people to connect with ideas and concepts that are often hard to describe in words. Fruits are sweet gifts offered in abundance from the natural world. They symbolize harvest, wealth, and generosity.

We cover:

-Fruit as a symbol of abundance and growth

-Apples represent the wish to share safety, wellness, and harmony

-The calabash as it relates to protection, long life, and healing

-Why grapes are a symbol of prosperity and celebration

-Peaches are symbolic of youth, charm, romance, and peach blossom luck

-Olives as the ancient symbol of peace and friendship

-The cleansing and stimulating qualities of the lemon
