A homeless dog wandering a rain-soaked town in search of shelter and compassion, is who we find as we enter the story. With his matted coat and weary eyes, he endures rejection after rejection and bitter loneliness that weighs on his spirit. He roams dark alleys and empty streets, hoping for warmth that never comes, until a small miracle appears in the form of a kind boy named Benji. Armed with an umbrella and a heart of empathy, Benji offers the starving dog a peanut butter sandwich and drapes his raincoat over him. Gradually, the cautious dog accepts the gift and follows the boy home.
