You may or may not have heard of The Book Trade Charity BTBS, but it is the industry’s life support system for so many people. It has been going since 1837 and helped so many employees across the whole book industry – bookselling, publishing, literary agents, literary festivals, distribution when times are hard. It has provided grants to help with emergencies, training, career support and hardship, as well as having accommodation to rent in both Kings Langley and Whetstone.
Whilst times are hard for everyone, it is no different for the industry charity who have had to more than double the amount of money they are giving in grants.
In this episode we speak to Victoria Perry, the CEO of The Book Trade Charity, about some of the challenges they are facing, and how you and your employer can help, and why even such a small amount of help, such as a bake sale, can make a big difference.
