A new book explores what the streaming company did to get so powerful, and how it is continuing to alter the music landscape, often in ways that disadvantage the artists it claims to support. Journalist Liz Pelly discusses the reporting from her book, Mood Machine: The Rise of Spotify and the Costs of the Perfect Playlist.
